what is needed to apply for nsfas 2024-2025
The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (Nsfas) may request supporting papers from you in order to process your application. Before handing over these needed documents, make sure you have all of the necessary information.
The Nsfas offers financial aid to poor and working-class students enrolled in one of South Africa’s public universities or TVET colleges. There is more to the Nsfas bursary than just tuition. Additionally, it covers student necessities like housing and transportation.
You will need the following information to finish your NSFAS application:
- your own email address and phone number.
- a copy of your identification or birth certificate.
- IDs from parents, guardians, or spouses (or, if applicable, a death certificate)
- certificate of marriage (where applicable).
- Your income documentation or an IRP5 for one year (if applicable).
- the income verification of your spouse, parents, or guardian; You will not need to provide proof of income if you receive a SASSA grant.
- a ruling from the court (if applicable).
- A completed and signed Disability Annexure A Form must be submitted by disabled applicants.
- A completed and signed Vulnerable Child Declaration and Consent Form must be submitted by an applicant who has been identified as a vulnerable child by the Department of Social Development.
The platform will tell students how to upload the required documents. Affidavits will not be accepted, remember.
If the information provided does not correspond with information from a third party, the application system may request supporting documents.
