ABOUT UZMFOLOZI TVET COLLEGE

Only 50 public Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Colleges exist in South Africa, and uMfolozi TVET College is one of them. It is one of nine in the KwaZulu-Natal province. The College’s eight principal campuses are Chief Albert Luthuli, Eshowe, Esikhawini, Mandeni, and Richtek, Sundumbili/Isithebe, Bambanana, and Nkandla.

The six skills centers are Jininindomnyama, Nseleni, Thubelihle, Alton, Maphumulo, and the ZCBF Community Park.The College offers national business and engineering programs such as the National Certificate (Vocational) and N4-N6 Diploma.

Because of the College’s diverse skill programs, it is able to meet the demand for skills training at the grassroots level.Learnership and co-operative programs are also popular at uMfolozi College.The College has a SETA-accredited Training Centre in Mandeni.

UZMFOLOZI TVET COLLEGE COURSES ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Course Requirements for NC(V);

  • tudents are allowed to study for a maximum of four years for NC (V) Levels 2, 3, and 4 to account for any topic failures.
  • The minimal entrance requirements are NQF1 (Grade 9) and AET Level 4.
  • The admission requirements have been driven and coordinated by the NC (V) policy.
  • A point system will be utilized to determine qualification admittance.

Requirements for 191 Courses;

  • The NATED Policy establishes minimum entry standards.
    N4 will admit students who have completed Grade 12/NC (V) Level 4.
  • Students who have completed grades 9, 10, 11, or 12 and choose to pursue a career as an artisan will be admitted to N1 on a point system.

Requirements for Occupational Courses

  • Minimum admittance requirements based on QCTO/SETA-approved registered Skills Programs/Learnerships.
  • A student who has previously enrolled in NC(V) or Report 191 programs will only be considered for an Occupational Program if they have finished the NC(V) or Report 191 program in its entirety (passed all subjects).

Additional Admissions Requirements

  • The College Council has created new admission requirements for NC(V) level 2, Report 191 N1, and Report 191 N4 utilizing a point system in order to improve the quality and performance of specialized programs.
