ABOUT NSFAS
In accordance with the National Student Financial Aid Scheme, the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) was established.
NSFAS is a bursary program that provides free higher education and training to poor and working-class South African students.

The mission of NSFAS is to provide financial assistance to students from low-income and working-class households who wish to attend public universities and technical colleges

INTRODUCTIONS TO NSFAS PROGRAMS
Former President Jacob Zuma declared on December 16, 2017, that the South African government will gradually implement “totally subsidized free higher education and training for poor and working-class South African students.”
The money would be phased in over a five-year period, resulting in the establishment of the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) Bursary Scheme.

Financial Aid at TUT. tut nsfas 2023-2024

The Directorate of (NSFAS) Financial Aid’s main function and mandate is to oversee and administer various student funding alternatives for qualified students in accordance with sponsor standards.
Our goal is to guarantee that all qualified students on all of our campuses have access to these monies.
We intend to distribute the monies through a fair and open application and review process.

We provide over R1.4 billion in financial aid to around 30 000 TUT students each year.
If you’re not one of them, you should do everything you can to secure financial assistance.
