INTRODUCTION TO TSHWANE NORTH TVET COLLEGE
The Greater Tshwane Metropolis of Gauteng is home to Tshwane North Technical and Vocational Education and Training College (TNC). It has a corporate (Central) Office in Pretoria’s downtown area, as well as six campuses: Mamelodi, Pretoria, Rosslyn, Soshanguve North, Soshanguve South, and Temba.
TNC’s five campuses are all within 25 kilometers of the central office, with Temba Campus being the farthest away at 41 kilometers.
At the Soshanguve South Campus, the College offers a locked hostel that can accommodate 300 students.
Due to a lack of funding, however, critical modifications must still be done before it can be reopened to house needy students.
With a student population of between 20 000 and 21 000, the College employs approximately 327 lecturers and??? support workers.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
There are some requirements that must be met before applying to any Tshwane North TVET College campus to study or obtain a skilled trade.
- You should have a certificate from grade nine.
- Applicants under the age of sixteen will be disqualified.
- It’s worth noting that more advanced courses may necessitate higher certifications:
Engineering and higher-level studies, for example, necessitate a greater degree of education. - Most TVET universities need you to take an admissions exam as part of the application process.
This allows the college to measure each student’s numeracy and literacy abilities. - The applicant may be required to go through an interview procedure in order to be considered.

COURSES OFFERED AT TSHWANE NORTH TVET COLLEGE
- A year end school report for Grade 9 or Higher
- NQF Level 1 Qualification (STD 7/Form 2/ABET 4)
- Preference will be given to Grade 11 & 12 learners
- Placement test is compulsory to enable the College to refer a leaner to a suitable program
Fundamental Subjects
The following subjects are compulsory for each level:
- English 1st Additional Language
- Mathematics
- Life Orientation
- Grade12 or NCV L4 or National Senior Certificate (NSC). Preference will be given to learners with a score of 26 or higher on admission instrument attached. Then a sliding scale will be applied until the specific program is full.
- Grade12 or NCV L4 or National Senior Certificate (NSC) Recognized relevant work experience, learnership, or certificate subject to approval by Academic Head and Principle.
- Grade12 or NCV L4 or National Senior Certificate (NSC). Preference will be given to learners with a score of 26 or higher on admission instrument attached. Then a sliding scale will be applied until the specific program is full.
- Grade12 or NCV L4 or National Senior Certificate (NSC) Recognized relevant work experience, learnership, or certificate subject to approval by Academic Head and Principle.
- A year-end school report for Grade 9 or Higher

- Grade 10 – 35 % (AL2)
