South West Gauteng College is a public Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), formerly known as a Further Education and Training (FET) college that operates under the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) under the Continuing Education and Training Act, Act No.16 of 2006, as amended. Umalusi and numerous Sector Education and Training Authorities (Seta’s) have granted the College accreditation to provide education and training, primarily in the FET band (NQF Level 2 to 4).
Some programs are available in the Higher Education band, which ranges from N4 to N6. The college is one of the largest in the country, with approximately 30 000 students enrolled.

The College is a true citadel of education and training for communities in its large catchment area and beyond, with its home office in Molapo Campus, Soweto, and campuses dispersed throughout Soweto (3), Roodepoort (2), and Randburg (1), including the “LAND IS WEALTH FARM” in Sterkfontein. It is no exaggeration to claim that “we now surface everywhere!” thanks to the Technisa Campus in Randburg’s distance learning and e-learning mode.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR SOUTH WEST GAUTENG TVET COLLEGE

To complete the application, you’ll need an email address.
An ID number is required for South African candidates.
The passport numbers of foreign applicants will be required.
You must pay the application fee once you have obtained your student number from the College.
Ensure that your documents are scanned in accordance with the instructions.
You must meet the exact entrance requirements for your chosen qualification in order to be admitted to college.
If you don’t fulfill these prerequisites, you might wish to look into other credentials or, if you do, an extended program that allows you to enroll for limited modules in your first year if you qualify.
Students who graduated from the ACE (Accelerated Christian Education) School of Tomorrow in Grade 12 may be ineligible for admission to the College.
There are a limited number of spots available for some College qualifications.
Meeting the general and/or particular entrance requirements for a qualification does not guarantee you a spot in the 2023 academic year.

Application forms are available at all College Sites/Campuses and on the College Website (www.swgc.co.za).

and decide which program(s) you want to pursue.
Applications sent after the deadline will not be considered!

Step 2: Fill out the application forms

Hard-copy application forms must be filled out using a black pen and printed clearly.
Your application form must be signed.
Forms that have not been signed will not be processed.

Delays in processing will occur if your application is incomplete.

Step 3: Documentation to back up your claim.

The College requires all applications to be accompanied by supporting documents.
The following documents must be sent with the completed application forms:
A certified copy of the most recent qualification/results
A certified copy of your driver’s license
If you have a handicap or ongoing medical condition that requires you to request special help from the College, please include a medical statement from a registered doctor.
If all essential supporting paperwork is not supplied, the College will not consider your application.
