South Cape TVET College Registration 2023-2024
ABOUT SOUTH CAPE TVET COLLEGE REGISTRATION
South Cape TVET College, often known as SCC, is located along the famed Garden Route, in the Little and Central Karoo, and has a catchment area of 80 822 km2, making it the largest of the Western Cape’s six TVET Colleges.
The Garden Route, Klein Karoo District, and Central Karoo District each have six SCC campuses.
The Beaufort West Campus, the Bitou Campus in Plettenberg Bay, the George Campus, the Hessequa Campus in Riversdale, the Mossel Bay Campus, and the Oudtshoorn Campus are the campuses.
The central office in George is in charge of managing and coordinating the campuses. All members of the senior management team are based there. The college was founded in the year 2000 and served as a test bed for college mergers in South Africa.
SCC is the result of the merger of the following colleges:
George Technical College, established in 1968, Oudtshoorn Technical College, established in 1981, South Cape Technical Institute in George, which began operations in the early 1980s, and Mossel Bay College, established in 1993 as a satellite of Oudtshoorn Technical College, are all technical colleges in South Africa. From 2002 forward, several college mergers followed the SCC amalgamation’s successful integration.
Changes like the amalgamation of the South Cape TVET College were not without their challenges.
Because there was now a Central Office and each prior Technical College was now a Campus of the University, staff had to adjust to change.
