ABOUT SOUTH CAPE TVET COLLEGE
South Cape TVET College, often known as SCC, is located along the famed Garden Route, in the Little and Central Karoo, and has a catchment area of 80 822 km2, making it the largest of the Western Cape’s six TVET Colleges.
The Garden Route, Klein Karoo District, and Central Karoo District each have six SCC campuses.
The Beaufort West Campus, the Bitou Campus in Plettenberg Bay, the George Campus, the Hessequa Campus in Riversdale, the Mossel Bay Campus, and the Oudtshoorn Campus are the campuses.
The central office in George is in charge of managing and coordinating the campuses. All members of the senior management team are based there. The college was founded in the year 2000 and served as a test bed for college mergers in South Africa.
SCC is the result of the merger of the following colleges:
George Technical College was established in 1968, Oudtshoorn Technical College was established in 1981, South Cape Technical Institute in George began operations in the early 1980s, and Mossel Bay College began operations in 1993 as a satellite of Oudtshoorn Technical College.
SOUTH CAPE TVET COLLEGE ADMISSION REQUIREMNTS
NC(V) Course Requirements;
- In order to account for possible topic failures, students are allowed to study for a maximum of four years for NC (V) Levels 2, 3, and 4.
- NQF1 (Grade 9) and AET Level 4 are the minimum entry criteria.
- The NC (V) policy has led and aligned the entry requirements.
For qualification admission, a point system will be used.
Report 191 Courses Requirements;
- The NATED Policy establishes minimum entry standards.
N4 will admit students who have completed Grade 12/NC (V) Level 4. - Students who have completed grades 9, 10, 11, or 12 and choose to pursue a career as an artisan will be admitted to N1 on a point system.
Occupational Course Requirements;
- Minimum admittance requirements based on QCTO/SETA-approved registered Skills Programs/Learnerships.
- A student who has previously enrolled in NC(V) or Report 191 programs will only be considered for an Occupational Program if they have finished the NC(V) or Report 191 program in its entirety (passed all subjects).
Additional Requirements for Admission
- In order to improve the quality and performance of specialized programs, the College Council has established new admission requirements for NC(V) level 2, Report 191 N1, and Report 191 N4 using a point system.

- The South Cape College Online Application will most likely close on 30 September 2023 for some programs and 30 October 2023 for all programs.
