If you want to study at a public university or TVET college but come from a low-income family of R350 000 or less, you should apply for Nsfas. The National Student Financial Aid Scheme is a South African government-run program that provides financial aid to undergraduate students to help them cover the cost of their higher education after they graduate from high school.
The Scheme is administered by DHET, one of the South African government’s departments. South African universities, colleges, and other post-secondary institutions are overseen by the Department of Higher Education and Training.
Every South African can now afford to pay for their education without stress thanks to the Nsfas funds. While some students excel academically, others struggle financially and drop out or end up on the streets. Online applications are required for all Nsfas.
