This online application will provide students with a comprehensive overview of all tertiary education institutions in South Africa. It will allow students to search for institutions based on a variety of factors, such as location, price, and type of institution. In addition, the application will allow students to make an online application and receive immediate feedback regarding their application.

  • Western College (Westcol) is one of 50 public TVET colleges that comprise the Department of Higher Education and Training, according to this act. The CET Act is a piece of passed legislation.
  • The objective of Western TVET College is to provide high-quality education and training that benefits both students and the community. They provide a variety of courses as well as public adult learning facilities for students wishing to finish AET levels.

  • The online registration period for the 2023 academic year begins on August 1st, 2023, and ends on October 29th, 2023.

Western TVET Institute Admission Requirements for TVET Colleges

NC(V) Course Requirements

  • Students may study for up to four years for NC (V) Levels 2, 3, and 4, taking into account possible subject failures.
  • NQF1 (Grade 9) and AET Level 4 are the minimum entry criteria.
    The NC (V) policy has led and aligned the entry requirements. For qualification admission, a point system will be used.

Report 191 Courses Requirements

  • The NATED Policy establishes minimum entry qualifications. N4 will admit students who have completed Grade 12/NC (V) Level 4.
    Students who have completed grades 9, 10, 11, or 12 and wish to pursue an artisan career will be admitted to N1 using a point system.

Occupational Course Requirements;

  • Minimum entry requirements based on QCTO/SETA-approved registered Skills Programmes/Learnerships
    To be considered for an Occupational Programme, a student who has previously enrolled in NC(V) or Report 191 programs must have fully finished the NC(V) or Report 191 program (passed all subjects)

Additional Requirements for Admission

  • In order to improve the quality and performance of specialized programs, the College Council established additional admission requirements using a point system for NC(V) level 2, Report 191 N1, and Report 191 N4.

  • Submit paperwork; you will be notified of your progress through email.
  • Before applying, please read the minimal prerequisites.
  • Westcol retains the right to discontinue or relocate a program due to insufficient student enrollment.
  • We will communicate with you by email, thus you must have an active e-mail account.
  • You must constantly check your email in order to avoid missing any contact.
  • All documents must be original certified copies, and the certification cannot be older than 6 months.

  • All first-time applicants are required to complete the PLACEMENT ASSESSMENT in its entirety. This is NOT a pass/fail test.
