For TVET institutions that offer semester and trimester courses, the NSFAS application period is now open. On November 2, 2023, the application will open, and it will close on January 21, 2024. Students must apply online at www.nsfas.org.za if they want to be considered. To apply, you must either create a MyNsfas account or sign in. Candidates must confirm that they meet the NSFAS application requirements before applying. Please read this page to learn about the documents that need to be submitted, and then follow the instructions to make sure your application is submitted on time and not rejected.

Documents Needed to Apply for the NSFAS Second Semester Online Application

You need the following information to complete your NSFAS Bursary Online Application for 2024 and 2025:

  • You are required to have your own email address and phone number.
    You must provide a copy of your ID or birth certificate.
    You should also give copies of the identification cards of your parents, guardians, or spouse.
    One year’s worth of IRP5 or, if applicable, proof of income. Proof of income from your parents, guardians, or spouse is not required for SASSA grant recipients.
    A completed and signed Disability Annexure must be submitted by all disabled applicants. A Document A Vulnerable Child Declaration and Consent Form that has been completed and signed by each applicant who has been identified as a Vulnerable Child by the Department of Social Development is also required. How to Submit an Application for the NSFAS Online Second Semester 2024-2025

  • Go to the NSFAS Application website: After that, go to www.nsfas.org.za and select the “myNSFAS” tab to “Create a myNSFAS account.” If you don’t know how to create, click HERE. Then, go to the “APPLY” tab and update your personal information. Answer the questions on the screen and upload all the necessary supporting documents before clicking “submit.”

How to view/check my NSFAS online application status

  • Access the portal for your myNSFAS account.
    Enter your username and identification number.
    Select the SIGN IN! button.
    To check your application’s status, log into your account dashboard and click Track Funding Progress.
    Congratulations if your application has been accepted! If not, good luck again next time.
