In South Africa, there is a bursary program called the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) that helps students who want to go to college but may not have the money to do so. The bursary provides funding in two forms: TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) college funding and university funding.

NSFAS funding covers more than just tuition costs. Tuition, living, transportation, book, and incidental or personal care expenses can all be covered with financial assistance for eligible students. Students may find this helpful in covering the costs of their education as well as any associated costs, such as housing, transportation, and books.
Students must demonstrate financial need and satisfy certain academic requirements in order to be eligible for NSFAS funding. Students who are interested in applying for NSFAS funding should learn about the eligibility requirements and the application process as soon as possible and submit their applications.

If you are eligible to apply for a bursary:

    Your annual household income is not more than R350 000 combined;
