Your NSFAS Account is locked because the NSFAS system detected that a wrong login detail; username, or password was entered into your account three (3) times. When the NSFAS system signals that a wrong username or password has been entered into your account with the aim to log in and access the information in it, the system will automatically lock your account. NSFAS will lock your account when it sees that the login details trying to access the account are different from the ones stored in the system. In this article, we’re informing you as to why your MyNSFAS Account is blocked, how to unblock your MyNSFAS Account, etc.

How To Unblocked Your NSFAS Account

Here is what you should do if you want to change your password for the myNSFAS portal.

Go to www.nsfas.org.za

Click myNSFAS account
Click ‘forgot password
Type in your ID number
Choose one of the following options:
- I can’t remember my username
- I can’t remember my password
- I can’t remember my username and password
Choose the relevant option
Click ‘submit’
You will receive an OTP via SMS and email to the mobile phone number and email you provided.
The OTP should be in your email or phone. This OTP only works for the next 24 hours.
Type the OTP number in the provided block
Click ‘submit’
A link to reset your login details will be sent to you via email and SMS
Follow the link that was sent to you via SMS or email.
Follow the reset process
Follow the on-screen instructions to create a new password.
Click ‘submit’
