INTRODUCTION TO MAJUBA TVET COLLEGE
In the Amajuba and Umzinyathi Districts, Majuba TVET College is the primary supplier of technical and vocational education and training.
It provides services to important industries in these sectors, including iron and steel production, mining (mostly coal), textile and garment manufacture, cement chemical processing, Tyre production, engineering, and primary agriculture. There are seven campuses located throughout the Newcastle, Madadeni, and Dundee metropolitan areas.
A wide range of nationally recognized vocational and occupational programs are available at the College.
Majuba TVET College is dedicated to enhancing and optimizing teaching and learning possibilities via the use of cutting-edge technology and innovative teaching approaches. The College, which is located in Newcastle, Northern KwaZulu-Natal, plays an important role in the holistic development of our students as part of their preparation for the workplace.
The College offers NQF-aligned Learnerships (in partnership with Business and Industry), Skills Programs, and Apprenticeship Training in addition to the Ministerial programs, particularly the National Certificate (Vocational) and Report 191 (N1-N6). The College sees itself as a key social partner in achieving the local, provincial, and national governments’ common socioeconomic goals. To this purpose, the College provides possibilities for education and training, as well as equipping our students with the necessary information and skills to become economically active citizens.

MAJUBA TVET COLLEGE ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
NC(V) Course Requirements;
In order to account for possible topic failures, students are allowed to study for a maximum of four years for NC (V) Levels 2, 3, and 4.
- NQF1 (Grade 9) and AET Level 4 are the minimum entry criteria.
- The NC (V) policy has led and aligned the entry requirements.
For qualification admission, a point system will be used.
Report 191 Courses Requirements;
- The NATED Policy establishes minimum entry standards.
N4 will admit students who have completed Grade 12/NC (V) Level 4. - Students who have completed grades 9, 10, 11, or 12 and choose to pursue a career as an artisan will be admitted to N1 on a point system.
Occupational Course Requirements;
- Minimum admittance requirements based on QCTO/SETA- approved registered Skills Programs/Learnerships.
- A student who has previously enrolled in NC(V) or Report 191 programs will only be considered for an Occupational Program if they have finished the NC(V) or Report 191 program in its entirety (passed all subjects).
Additional Requirements for Admission
- In order to improve the quality and performance of specialized programs, the College Council has established new admission requirements for NC(V) level 2, Report 191 N1, and Report 191 N4 using a point system.
