  • The King Hintsa TVET College was formed by the merger of the old Centane Technical College, Teko Technical College, H.B. Tsengwa Technical College, and Idutywa Satellite, formerly known as Idutywa Community College.
  • This King Hintsa TVET College is located in the South Eastern Region of the Eastern Cape. The Central Administration Office is located in Butterworth on N2 Mthatha Road, adjacent to WSU (Butterworth campus).
  • The college is divided into two Local Municipalities, with two campuses in Mnquma (Centane, Teko, and Admin Center). The Dutywa and HB Tsengwa campuses are located in Mbashe Local Municipality.
  • College campuses are all within 60 kilometers of one another. The college provides NC (V), Report 191, and Skills Development programs on multiple sites.
  • The King Hintsa TVET College is well-known for training adults, out-of-school adolescents, and project-linked trainees with varying academic backgrounds and opportunities to increase their educational level.

Report191 Engineering

Duration:

  • 11 weeks per N-level

Admission criteria for Report191 Engineering Applicants:

  • The relevant national N3 Engineering Studies certificate;
  • A Senior Certificate with at least three training opportunities that are relevant to the education option chosen by the program candidate;
  • a qualification comparable
  • Only go to the following stage after finishing the previous level successfully, i.e. N4 to N5, and so on.
  • To qualify for a National Diploma, students must gain 18 months of relevant practical experience.

Report191 Business

Duration:

  • 6 months per N-level

Admission requirements:

  • NSC / N3 / Grade 12 for N4
  • N4 for N5
  • N5 for N6 a suitable National Certificate N3 Engineering Studies; or

General:

  • Each subject is divided into six months (January to June or July to November). Each course requires four subjects to be completed. Students who successfully complete Introductory N4, N4, N5, and N6 will be awarded a certificate in the specific field of study.
  • Students must gain and complete 18 months of relevant practical experience to qualify for a National Diploma.

The Teko Campus of King Hintsa TVET College offers the following Short Courses:

How to Fill Out the King Hintsa Online Application

Step 1.

  • Determine the course you want to take; career assistance is provided.
    Fill out the application form, which is available on all of our campuses and at the Admin Centre. It can also be downloaded here and posted or emailed to you upon request.
    Step 2.
  • Pay a non-refundable application fee; therefore, make sure you satisfy the minimal requirements before applying; payment information is on the application form.
    Step 3.
  • Submit the paperwork to the campus where you want to study, along with your certified ID copy, latest school results, parent/guardian ID copy, and proof of payment.

Step 4.

  • Foreign candidates must evaluate their qualifications with SAQA prior to applying; no foreign students will be allowed if this is not done.
    Step 5.
  • Following the submission of your application, the college will notify you if you have been admitted and you will be needed to write a pace exam. You will then be expected to attend classes.
