By logging into myUnisa and following the registration prompts, you can make any of the following changes to your registration.
If you’d like the university to help you, fill out the appropriate forms and submit your request in writing.
- By post: The Deputy Registrar, PO Box 392, Unisa, 0003
- By fax: 012 429 4150
Adding modules
To add modules after registration you must apply online or in writing using the prescribed form (DSAR02) and then pay the necessary fee to the university by the relevant closing date for registration. Please note that requests to add modules received via e-mail will not be accepted as official requests for additions.
Cancelling modules
- You can cancel modules via the same channels. You will, however, forfeit the applicable portion of the fees paid (related to the date of cancellation).
- Please look at the “exclusion from studies” paragraph in the Student Rules before cancelling modules. Should you wish to cancel your registration within 10 calendar days of your registration being activated, you may apply for a full refund in line with Unisa’s cooling-off period.
- Please apply in writing, either via myUnisa or by using the relevant refund form.
Changing your address and / or telephone number
Submit all requests to change telephone numbers and/or postal, physical or courier addresses via myUnisa or in writing using the prescribed form (DSAR03). All addresses are compulsory. No registrations will be processed without address details.
Changing your exam center
At the time of registration, you must confirm your examination center.
This information is also available on myUnisa.
Unless you ask to Unisa in writing to alter the site, all examinations in a given examination period must be taken at this center.
Unisa will let you know whether you can modify your venue (depending on availability, venue capacity and the closing date for applications for exam center changes). You can do this via :
- myUnisa
- e-mail (exams@unisa.ac.za) (include your student number in the subject line)
- SMS 43584
- fax 012 429 4150
If you want to change your examination venue, ensure that you apply by the due date for the specified examination period:
- 28 February for the May/June examinations
- 31 July for the October/November examinations
- 15 October for the January/February examinations
CTA levels 1 and 2 students should note that examination centers for these exams are limited to venues used for tests during the year. CTA exams take place prior to the October/November examination period. Applications for venue changes must be submitted to Unisa by 31 July 2022.
Applying for course credit exemptions
- A maximum of 50% of a finished qualification’s credits may be transferred to another qualification (HEQSF 2013).
- All credits for an unfinished qualification may be recognized by the same or a different university as satisfying part of the curriculum curriculum requirements for a different qualification, or as meeting part of the criteria for the same qualification by a different institution (HEQSF 2013).
- At the time of passing the appropriate modules at your former institution, you must have met Unisa’s admission standards.
Ordinary conditional exemption
If you have an ordinary conditional exemption, you will not be allowed to proceed to second or further years of study until you have passed the outstanding modules and met the condition of that exemption.
