ABOUT EKURHULENI EAST TVET COLLEGE COURSES
The Ekurhuleni East TVET College is located in the eastern area of the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality, and is one of South Africa’s 50 TVET colleges. The College is called from the Tsonga word Ekurhuleni, which means “place of peace.” The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (EMM) has a large area of 1 975 km2.
The EMM includes Alberton, Benoni, Boksburg, Brakpan, Edenvale, Germiston, Kempton Park, Nigel, and Springs. These towns encompass 17 townships (EMM IDP 2015-16). Ekurhuleni is located in a unique geographic area. On the east, it is bordered by Johannesburg, while on the south, it is bounded by Tshwane.
Gauteng’s whole land area is covered by the Metro, which accounts for 15.6 percent of the province’s total land area.
In the current metropolitan region, it is the fourth largest municipality. In the south Africa, The three major towns in Ekurhuleni are Kempton Park, Benoni, and Springs.

EKURHULENI EAST TVET COLLEGE COURSES ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
NC(V) Course Requirements;
- In order to account for possible topic failures, students are allowed to study for a maximum of four years for NC (V) Levels 2, 3, and 4.
- NQF1 (Grade 9) and AET Level 4 are the minimum entry criteria.
- The NC (V) policy has led and aligned the entry requirements.
For qualification admission, a point system will be used.
Requirements for 191 Courses;
- The NATED Policy defines entrance requirements.
- Students who have completed Grade 12/NC (V) Level 4 will be admitted to N4.
- On a point system, students who have finished grades 9, 10, 11, or 12 and choose to pursue a profession as an artisan will be admitted to N1.
Requirements for Occupational Courses
- Minimum entrance requirements as per registered Skills Program/Learnership approved by QCTO/SETA
- To be eligible to apply for an Occupational Program a student who previously enrolled for NC(V) or Report 191 programs will only be considered if such a student has fully completed the NC(V) or Report 191 program (passed all subjects).
Additional Entry Requirements
- The College Council has determined additional entry requirements by means of a point system for NC(V) level 2, Report 191 N1 and Report 191 N4 in an effort to improve the quality and performance of specialized programs.
