ABOUT EASTCAPE MIDLANDS TVET COLLEGE REGISTRATION
The Eastcape Midlands TVET College (EMC) in Nelson Mandela Bay, South Africa, continues to play an important role in the skills development and lives of its students in the Eastern Cape province.
EMC provides service to a heavily industrialized metropolitan area that is part of the Nelson Mandela Metropole, as well as the province’s rural western region.
This means the college faces unique challenges in meeting the needs of a developed and advanced industrial economy on the one hand, and a widespread rural area with high unemployment and poverty on the other, which is compounded by the Eastern Cape’s primary and secondary education systems in rural and less fortunate communities.
Despite the difficulties, EMC has not only raised the number of students who pass their examinations each year, but has also produced the top ten students in the country in recent years.
In 2017, the institution achieved a 73 percent certification pass rate and 874 distinctions in the National Certificate (Vocational) tests, with a 49 percent pass rate for Engineering and a 66 percent pass rate for Business, both of which are Report 191 programs.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR EASTCAPE TVET COLLEGE
- This application must be accompanied by a copy of the first page of your Identity Document.
- Your application must include a copy of your Senior Certificate, National Senior Certificate, or highest qualification.
- Grade 12 students must attach a copy of their Grade 11 final results as well as their Grade 12 results from June or September.
- The subjects and symbols earned, as well as whether the subjects are on the Higher Grade or Standard Grade, must be noted in the report.
- An original academic record or certified copies of other certifications received before must also be submitted if you attended any other higher education institution.
- Proof of the parents’ or guardians’ residence address.
STUDENTS FROM OTHER COUNTRIES (non-South African citizens)
- This form must be accompanied by a certified copy of your passport.
- Before you may register, you must first show that you have a valid study permit.
