  • On September 11, 2003, the late Minister Prof. Kadar Asmal established Central Johannesburg TVET College (CJC) at our site in Alexandra, paving the way for the then-growing further education and training (FET) industry.
  • One of the 50 public TVET institutions in South Africa that are overseen by the Department of Higher Education and Training is the College (DHET). There are eight TVET colleges in Gauteng.
  • Ellis Park, Parktown, Alexandra, Riverlea, Langlaagte, Crown Mines, Smit Street, and Troyville are the eight campuses that make up the College. The eight campuses are dispersed over an area of around 10 kilometers from Parktown’s Central Office.
  • National Technical Education (NATED) and National Certificate (Vocational) NC programs, both of which are nationally accredited, are available through the college (V). Umalusi, the Council for Quality Assurance in General and Further Education and Training verifies the quality of these programs to maintain a national standard.
  • Along with the aforementioned programs, the College also provides a few skills training courses in coordination with the appropriate Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA). The relevant SETA Education and Training Quality Assurance (ETQA) unit accredits the programs and oversees their quality.
