INTRODUCTION TO BUFFALO CITY TVET COLLEGE COURSES
In 2002, Buffalo City TVET College was formed by the merger of three colleges in the Greater East London area: East London College and its St Marks Campus, Border Technical College, and John Knox Bokwe Careers College in Mdantsane.
Shortly after the merger, the Border Technical College was dismantled, and the Council moved its Business Studies programs to East London Campus and its Engineering Division to St Marks Campus. At John Knox Bokwe Campus, both the Business and Engineering Studies Report 191 programs were still accessible.

BUFFALO CITY TVET COLLEGE COURSES REQUIREMENTS

- Students are allowed to study for a maximum of four years for NC (V) Levels 2, 3, and 4 to account for any topic failures.
- The minimal entrance requirements are NQF1 (Grade 9) and AET Level 4.
- The admission requirements have been driven and coordinated by the NC (V) policy.
- A point system will be utilized to determine qualification admittance.
Report 191 Courses Requirements;
- The NATED Policy establishes minimum entry standards.
N4 will admit students who have completed Grade 12/NC (V) Level 4. - Students who have completed grades 9, 10, 11, or 12 and choose to pursue a career as an artisan will be admitted to N1 on a point system.
Occupational Course Requirements;
- Minimum admittance requirements based on QCTO/SETA- approved registered Skills Programs/Learnerships.
- A student who has previously enrolled in NC(V) or Report 191 programs will only be considered for an Occupational Program if they have finished the NC(V) or Report 191 program in its entirety (passed all subjects).
Additional Admissions Requirements
- The College Council has created new admission requirements for NC(V) level 2, Report 191 N1, and Report 191 N4 utilizing a point system in order to improve the quality and performance of specialized programs.
