ABOUT BUFFALO CITY TVET COLLEGE ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

The merging of three colleges in the Greater East London area, namely East London College and its St Marks Campus, Border Technical College, and John Knox Bokwe Careers College in Mdantsane, resulted in the formation of Buffalo City TVET College in 2002.

The Border Technical College was disbanded soon after the merger, and the Council transferred its Business Studies programs into East London Campus and its Engineering Division into St Marks Campus.
Both Business and Engineering Studies Report 191 programs were still available at John Knox Bokwe Campus.Our line of business is Vocational Education and Training.
Students at BCC learn both practical and theoretical career skills.
This is to help them prepare for the workforce or additional education and training. at colleges and universities

  • DATE OF APPLICATION AND CLOSURE: Applications will be accepted until November 13, 2023.

BUFFALO CITY TVET COLLEGE ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  • NC(V) Course Requirements; NC(V) Course Requirements; NC(V) Course Requirements; NC
  • In order to account for possible topic failures, students are allowed to study for a maximum of four years for NC (V) Levels 2, 3, and 4.
  • NQF1 (Grade 9) and AET Level 4 are the minimum entry criteria.
  • The NC (V) policy has led and aligned the entry requirements.
    For qualification admission, a point system will be used.

Requirements for Report 191 Courses;

  • Minimum entrance requirements as aligned by the NATED Policy. Students who have passed to Grade 12/NC (V) Level 4 will be admitted to N4.
  • Students who have passed grades 9, 10, 11, or 12 who want to pursue an artisan career will be admitted to N1 based on a point system

Requirements for Occupational Courses;

  • Minimum entrance requirements as per registered Skills Program/Learnership approved by QCTO/SETA
  • To be eligible to apply for an Occupational Program a student who previously enrolled for NC(V) or Report 191 programs will only be considered if such a student has fully completed the NC(V) or Report 191 program (passed all subjects).

Additional Requirements for Admission

  • In order to improve the quality and performance of specialized programs, the College Council has established new admission requirements for NC(V) level 2, Report 191 N1, and Report 191 N4 using a point system.
