Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply for financial aid to further their education at any of South Africa’s universities or TVET colleges now that the NSFAS opportunity has started. To access your NSFAS funding progress through your MyNSFAS account, you must first create or update your MyNSFAS account on the official NSFAS website. The Nsfas application window is open from November 7, 2023, to January 21, 2024, for the academic year 2024-2025. Please adhere to the guidelines below to apply and register online.
How Do I Sign Up for My NSFAS Account?
You must first register your own account before you can use your MyNSFAS to access the NSFAS application process. Visit www.nsfas.org.za to do this. This is NSFAS’s official website. Follow these steps to create your own online account after opening the website:
- After going to the website at www.nsfas.org.za, select My NSFAS account.
Select “Register.”
Mark the box that grants NSFAS permission to verify the information you provide.
Enter the ID number that appears on your document.
Please enter your full names, including your surname, exactly as they appear on the ID you provided.
Add your email address here.
To confirm it, enter your email address once more.
Enter your mobile number.
Enter the password that you prefer.
To confirm it, enter your preferred password once more.
Send us a copy of your ID.
Select “Register.”
Wait for the OTP sent to your email address and phone number. You need to use this OTP right away because it will expire in 24 hours.
After entering the OTP, select “Submit.”
You should now be set up after completing all of these steps. Simply enter your correct username and password into the appropriate fields each time you need to log in.
SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS REQUIRED TO COMPLETE THE NSFAS ONLINE APPLICATION
- Provide your own cellphone number and email address. You must have a copy of your ID or birth certificate, as well as copies of your parents, guardians, or spouse’s ID. You must also have proof of your income, or, if necessary, one year’s IRP5.
You are not required to provide any evidence of income if you are the recipient of a SASSA grant.
A completed and signed Disability Annexure A Form must be submitted by all applicants who have a disability. Additionally, applicants who are considered vulnerable children by the Department of Social Development must submit a Vulnerable Child Declaration and Consent Form.
How to Apply for NSFAS Online Application when opened
- Visit the NSFAS Application website: www.nsfas.org.za
- Then, you click on the ‘myNSFAS’ tab
- Create a myNSFAS account.
- Click on the ‘APPLY’ tab
- Update your personal information
- Answer the questions you see on the screen
- Upload all the required supporting documents
- Finally, you click on ‘submit
